COVID-19 Guidance
The health and wellbeing of our Neuro Connection community remains our top priority. With that in mind, we would like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of staying vigilant and proactive in maintaining a healthy environment for all.
Given that many of our clients have neurological conditions that make them more sensitive and vulnerable to illnesses, we believe it is crucial to implement precautions to safeguard everyone's health. As we are all aware, symptoms associated with colds, flu, and COVID-19 can overlap, making it challenging to differentiate between them. The Ministry of Health advises that if you are Covid-19 positive, you stay at home for five days, so we ask that you please do not visit Neuro Connection clinic if you have tested positive.
We follow guidance from Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora. For more information please go to: COVID-19 (info.health.nz).
Please do not come to our facilities if you feel unwell or have any of the following respiratory infection symptoms:
- a cough
- a sore throat
- shortness of breath
- head cold symptoms (runny nose, sneezing, nasal drip)
- muscle aches or fatigue
- loss of sense of smell
- a fever
On arrival, please practise good hand hygiene using the alcohol-based products available.
From 4 March 2024, recommended COVID-19 testing advice for household contacts of a positive COVID-19 case changed.
- Household contacts of a positive COVID-19 case who do not have COVID-19 symptoms are no longer recommended to test daily with a rapid antigen test (RAT) for 5 days following a positive COVID-19 case in the household.
- If a household contact of a positive COVID-19 case develops one or more COVID-19 symptoms, they are recommended to stay at home and test for COVID-19 using a RAT.
RAT Testing
Our staff may ask you to have a test performed as part of your admission. If you are a household contact of someone with Covid-19 please advise our team immediately. We recommend that you do a RAT test before leaving home. This will be repeated on arrival at the centre.
A positive test will result in postponement of your planned session, but you will be rescheduled as soon as possible. We understand the inconvenience this may pose, but your commitment to this measure contributes significantly to the overall safety of our community.
